The Carter County Amateur Radio Association (CCARA) will conduct a one day study session and test for Amateur Radio license classification of tech, general or extra. The study and test session will be at our shack at 805 Hwy 91, Elizabethton, TN (which is approximately 3.5 miles north of the 19E/Rte 91 interchange) on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. There is no cost for this study session.
Tests will be given following the study session. There is a $15.00 fee due to the VEC at the time of test (please bring exact cash) and a $35.00 fee due to the FCC before a callsign is issued. When taking the Technician test, you must first obtain a FRN number from the FCC website. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/support/knowledge-base/universal-licensing-system-uls-resources/getting-fcc-registration. When taking a General or Amateur Extra test, you must bring a current copy of your amateur license.
Per FCC rules, a valid email address is also mandatory on the application form.
