Study Session and Exam – October 9, 2021

The Carter County Amateur Radio Association (CCARA) will conduct a one day study session and test for Amateur Radio license classification of tech, general or extra. The study and test session will be at our shack at 805 Hwy 91, Elizabethton, TN (which is approximately 3.5 miles north of the 19E/Rte 91 interchange) on Saturday, October 9th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. There is no cost for this study session.
Tests will be given following the study session. A fee of $15.00 (please bring cash and exact change) will be for the test session. You must bring 2 forms of identification. If you are upgrading from Tech to General or General to Extra, please bring a copy of your current license to be turned in with your exam paperwork. NOTE NEW REQUIREMENT: MANDATORY BEFORE THE EXAM
FCC Registration Number (FRN): Examinees are required by
the FCC to submit your FRN with your license application form.
New license applicants must create an FCC user account and
register their Social Security Number (SSN) in the FCC Commission
Registration System (CORES) (https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do) before attending exam sessions.
Registrants will be assigned an FRN which will be used in all license
transactions with the FCC. For instructions on how to register your
SSN and receive an FRN from the FCC, visit the CORES Registration
page and the FCC’s Registration instructions page.
Per FCC rules, a valid email address is also mandatory on the
application form.
